Arkadium Launches The Developer Zone
New York, NY - September 29, 2003 - Arkadium Inc., a leading provider of unique online game software, today announced the launch of the Arkadium Developer Zone (www.arkadium.com/devzone.html). The Arkadium Developer Zone was created for game developers and allows them to submit original games for review and possible inclusion in the Arkadium Gamedek system. Games that are accepted are housed within the Gamedek, and any revenue generated through cash-play matches are shared with the developer. The company also announced the launch of its first Developer Zone game, "Four Corners". Scott Kim, a full-time independent designer of visual puzzles and games created the strategy game exclusively for the Arkadium Gamedek.
"The Developer Zone gives Arkadium the opportunity to continue building relationships with the game developer community while greatly expanding our selection of games," stated Jessica Rovello, Chairman of Arkadium. "We are very excited to be launching this new initiative with Scott Kim's latest creation."
Since 1990 Scott Kim has been a full-time independent designer of visual puzzles and games for the web, computer games, magazines and toys. His puzzles are visually stimulating, thought provoking, broadly appealing, and highly original. Mr. Kim has created puzzles and games for companies including Sony Online Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Lucas Learning and Hasbro.
"Arkadium is a streamlined, sports car of a company - compact, responsive, and fun to work with. Their hands on approach to the development process helped me to produce a game better than what I originally imagined," stated Scott Kim, Puzzlemaster. "Both as a player and as a game designer I like their stripped-down aesthetic - nothing gets between you and the fun. And because players wager real money playing my game, I stand to be paid well for my creation."
Game Developers that have existing Flash, Shockwave, Java and/or Active X games are encouraged to visit www.arkadium.com/devzone.html to find out more.
Powered by Arkadium's proprietary Powerplay technology, the Arkadium Gamedek is a unique online game environment that is fun and easy to use. Unlike other Web sites, the Gamedek is the only system that allows its members to chat with one another, select an opponent and wager against them in games of skill.
