Lok-Na-Rok!

I have problems with playing Settlers 2 :(
You know an old game and new computer :P
Sooo here they are:
1) I can’t really run the snd setup. I have SB Live 1024 so it should be compatible with SB Pro or AWE16/32. Anyway other old games works with them. But the setup doesn’t start. So i ran a patch for the game and now it starts but there r no options @ all :(
2) I would like to play it with 2 mice. So in the readme it is written that one should be COM and other PS/2. Well I have COM but i dont really think it works :$ But i have PS/2 - logitech 2but+wheel and USB Logitech MX 1000 cordless optical. Both are working… But they both control player 1 :(

So can any1 help me?

Thanks :P

the first problem can usually be solved with vdmsound, which you can find here :

Hmm… IIRC Settlers 2 is a DOS game so you probably need a DOS emulator (such as DOSBox). This should run Settlers 2 correctly :D. But, of course, the best option is to download an install a DOS-like OS such as FreeDOS. It could be run from a bootable floppy disk so that you won’t have to install a boot-loader.

personally i’d always go with vdmsound (or another dos emulator). you don’t really want to reboot your computer every time you feel like playing for half an hour.

Hail,

i tryed DOSbox. So i have sound. But i can’t start a game. So i can’t really find out if the mices works.
It does errors when i start a game. And then hang up. After that it quits. :(
