Our team is in the midst of developing an action/adventure game titled Space Ruckus: The Great Invasion. The game will feature in-ship (action elements) and on-foot (adventure elements) areas of gameplay. The storyline focuses on the actions of a rookie pilot during a full-scale alien invasion.

We are seeking 3D modelers, level designers, programmers, and texture artists. The game is being programmed with Torque. A few prime examples of scenes needed for the project include a base orbiting a planet (exterior and interior), enemy/friendly ships, and space backdrops. The characters are composed of aliens/humans in space outfits. We will provide new developers with a complete production document.

If anyone is interested in joining the team, send an e-mail to recruitment@spaceruckus.com (be sure to provide sufficient background information). More information about the project can be found at http://www.spaceruckus.com. While you’re there, feel free to register on the forum, and stop by the chat room. We would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

I’ve heard of this before. One of our team members lives in London, and he can’t access the site, but the rest of the team can. So, it’s based on location. It seems to be a problem for our host, Web1000, to take care of though. You may want to write them a complaint about it. Be sure to specify your location.

Actually, most of the writing was finished months ago. This includes characters, concepts, controls, mission objectives, notes, and of course, the storyline. There are even a set of conceptual pieces. Team members have access to the aforementioned items in the development center.

If you have all the parts of the game? Why want to make a Team now?

No, I said writing, as in text. Most of that was finished during pre-production, and can now be found in the production document, along with conceptual pieces. Many parts of the game, such as levels, models, and most importantly, programming, are not finished. Everything that does get finished though, gets added to the development center. That way, the team can easily keep track of what still needs to be done.

Hmm. too bad you’ve already got the script. I may have a suggestion or two if this guy is in the military. There are alot of little quarks about the military that you don’t seem to see much in books, movies, or tv shows. Like for instance, crossing the line. In the navy when you cross the line (eqaudor) you turn from a feeble polly-wog (wog) to a mighty shell-back by the mighty high consule of Lord Neptune (your captain) in a test of loyalty, will power, and stamina. Such test include fasion shows, trash crawls, plank walking, and for them fruiter bubble heads (sub guy) straight up restriction of the right to wear any clothes.

Don’t know if you could use any of that stuff, but i think it may fit well to flesh out the game. Service members would get alot of it, while civies would be baffled at some of it. But so long as it’s funny, why not for at least background for the setting?
