i love that one… i do wonder though why the interviewers always let him of the hook so fast (you can’t see it here but he doesn’t go after him).

Ok. Maybe it’s just me, but I would expect everyone there to know exactly what sovereign to mean. If you think in this context, though he did blunder a bit, his response seems entirely realistic. The problem is that the question is idiotic. What he is saying is that it doesn’t really matter that whether the other nation is tribal or not, only whether it is sovereign. If we assume that it is in fact sovereign, then it is just the normal situation between two sovereign nations. The question has no content for anyone even remotely familiar with foreign policy. Someone could have gone into an elaborate answer about how tribal governments work and how this is not different at the surface from how other governments work, and this would have impressed the uneducated masses, educated people should not be more impressed by that kind of a statement than the one Bush gave except for the fact that he tripped on his words. It has long been known that he is not a good public speaker but that hardly means alone that he is unqualified to make the decisions about our country.

Now, I am not a Bush fan, but I dislike it when people bash anyone unjustly.

Personally I am voting for the Green party.

Again, we have a missunderstanding here…. Perhaps you US people that post here and the other’s that dont, manage to stay untouched from propaganda and dumb politics but you can’t deny that most of the USA is: stupid fat people, dumb president and dumb candidates for this post that are mainly interested in making a fortune and cheap oil prices so they can get another \~3 years of power!

Don’t you see that each american president from the near past has started a war conflict in the middle east one year before the votes?

Hehe, pretty funny. I just watched Fahrenheit 9/11 the other day too. Constant Bush Bash for the past 24 hours =P

I don’t know Bush personally, but I do know he lacks communication skills. The speeches he regurgitates generally come out ok, but I notice when he wants to add on the spot “you know… it’s like… you know what I mean, when….” then he tends to dig his own grave. Nothing a little practice in front of the mirror wouldn’t fix.

North of the border, I don’t think anyone can beat our Chrétien’s record. He was truly nutty.

NomadRock : nader ! nader ! nader ! … but seriously :  keep it up. sadly there are not many people in the states who vote green…
as to the video… i think the question included a few more things like kids not learning about tribal governments in school though they are part of their own country and how to resolve issues between tribes and the federal government. but even if it was a stupid question he could have elaborated on that rather than mumbling something that makes no sense at all.
anyway, it’s not true that bush only stumbles on his words. this is only one random example picked out of so many that people wrote books about it. personally i have no doubt that he is either dyslexic or boozed his brain to jelly.

mihail : though i agree with you partly (amrica did start many wars in the last decades [so did the soviet union] and somehow many of the people here are in fact are more than a little overweight) i think you should try to provide a few arguements that can be discussed rather than just saying : “can’t you see… they are stupid”

yes, because somebody else wrote them. i know very well that every speach is written beforehand but you can demand from a president that he can freely talk about matters of politics in public

Nothing a little practice in front of the mirror wouldn’t fix

if that was true for him i think somebody in the white house would have thought of giving him lessons in free speech in the past 4 years, don’t you ?

 • I’m sure his wife and daughters chuckled at him a few times for fun, and I’m certain he’s well aware of his own public speaking problems, however it’s evident he doesn’t care because in the last 4 years it would have been something he looked at =P I’m sure he’d rather play golf then talk to himself in the mirror just like I would rather play games then make them =)

I think you should try to provide a few arguements that can be discussed rather than just saying : “can’t you see… they are stupid”

How about an interview with people from Chicago i saw on the tv the last night:

-Do you know where this year’s olimpic games took place?
-Ehm…uhh…erm.. Germany?
-Which city?
-ehm… Madrid?

Of course this can hardly be discussed but it’s a good example of what’s going on there…

The politic are another argument that can be discussed.. perhaps you’ve noticed that the politic of Bush is not based on anything else than two words: Peace, Terrorists. Each one of his speachs contains this words in big number of repeation.

It’s like: “We’ll kill the terrorists so you can continue to live in Peace so vote for me on the next ellections, ok?”

And now something quite funny (or not, depending on how you look at it). As i was checking the news today i saw those demonstrants that support Bush on that huge demonstration. With all those flags, labels, ballons, etc. it looked exactly like: “Sieg hail! Sieg hail!”. So, something changed for 65 years? I don’t think so…

mihail :

How about an interview with people from Chicago i saw on the tv the last night

as you are a vivid follower of german television you should know all the interviews with people on the streets of germany. the same could be done in any other country i guess…

the thing about bushes speaches is true though. i guess that is because they haven’t got much positive things that happend during the last four years to brag about (none?)

“thank you for the question…” “i was just getting to that…” “well it greatly depends on….”
“you see, from our view the things are not at all that simple…”

and stuff like that :)

Actually, if you look at his speaches over the past 4 years he has gotten a lot better. He will never be perfect, but I am certain he has been taking lessons with a speech trainer.

But seriously stop with the “HAHA, he can’t even talk, look how stooopid all americans are for having a leader who cant even speak teh language” It is really getting old. If you have something new to add, please feel free, but regurgitation of old jokes does not make you funny.

well… that’s the funny thing with him. as you can easily deduct from the date in my signature some of the jokes are not old at all :)

The scariest thing I guess is mostly that he’s going to be re-elected

wrong, if he makes his plans true to postpone the election, because of terrorist threats, i guess he will declare himself emperor a few days later (or dick cheney finally walks out of the shadow and claims the dark throne for himself… either way, it’s going to be the next prince of darkness - not elect).

the really sad part is that kerry doesn’t look like he is going to do a lot different. i was surprised to hear when i arrived here in the states that he even wants to send more troops into iraq. but what can you expect of a man who brags about his medals won in heroic acts in vietnam (or any war for that matter).

I watched a “documentary” not a long ago about the elections. It seems american people do like that kind of guy and most candidates who were too “pacifists” never got elected because they didn’t brag about all their medals in combat. Personnaly I’d stay away from anyone who’d gone to vietnam’s war…

Anyone watched Bush’s speech at the Republican Convention™ ? Hilarious… he’s playing with people’s emotions all the time. He even talked about the second world war and how good they were to have won it over the Nazis, making a link between then and the “War against Terror™”

Thank god for Bush, he’ll help us get rid of all evil and all axis :) on this Earth! No need for Jesus to come back to help us in 2005, let’s pray for Bush for “FOUR MORE YEARS™”

If I point out a chick driving that cuts me off and joke about that chicks being bad drivers, the joke is not new again even if she only cut me off just today. It is still an old tired joke.

well, yeah, actually it’s hell sad… i mean, they put a dude on top of the country wich can’t speak, can’t think, and can only spend it’s money for war against nothing.. and after 4 years, all we can come up with is “it’s getting old”.

the one before nearly got dropped, just because he needed to get someone to suck his dick. i mean, bush even has dick himself. cheney, that is :D

you know, dude, we can laught about it, and we can continue to do so, but actually only BECAUSE it’s a sad thing. a .. mad thing.

oh, and, yeah, it’s getting old. and possibly it’s getting into the second round soon…

i marvel at the right wing media… they are doing such a great job for bush. FOX news is first row of course. kerry’s campaign was more about content than image until the right started calling him weak and a peacenik (i always wondered how something that includes the word peace could be turned into “bad word”). after that kerry was stupid enough to pull out his vietnam war veteranship (even though he was a member of the peace movement after the war… how that works out for him is beyond me). since then the contrast between the bush and kerry somehow started to vanish

Actually Bush is not the cowboy,
If you will recall the liberal media tryed to convice us that Reagan was a moron, dumb-ass, and they labled HIM “the cowboy”
Now in retrospect we realize that he was infact the “Great Communicator” and was the one that asked them to ‘Break down the wall’, and victory in the cold war - a task said to be impossible by the libs at the time [Like peace in the middle east of today?]

PS - you mispelled ‘shoes’ [Dumbass!]

yeah ? what did reagan do about the cold war ? he put a few pershings into europe. that’s what he did… gorbatschow did a hell lot more to end the cold war. you didn’t see america suddenly disarming their nuclear weapons (russia was broke but they started it anyway). in fact america has broken every treaty about nuclear disarmament there is.
the fall of the wall can hardly be attributed to reagan either. how do you imagine this ? reagan walked in and asked them to “pull down the wall” and suddenly everybody realized what a great idea it was and what idiots they had been in the past ?
i challange you to come up with anything substential that reagan did, in regard to ending the cold war or the wall, that doesn’t equate to empty phrases (like the ones in your last post).

Like peace in the middle east of today?

yeah ! maybe bush can put a few pershings in the middle east like reagan did in europe. that’ll solve things…

it’s fun to see how americans think they’ve done all the good stuff to us in europe during the twentiest century. they ended worldwars, they stopped cold wars, they ended the wall, and tons more..

and the children of the todays americans will believe that they saved us, the european, from terrorists..

history overthere is just marketing.. manipulation till the very end..

This is like watching a conversation between a Microsoft employee and an open-source programmer :).

Seriously though, I am not a Bush supporter and would like to see him go down, but the only time I really heard the word soverign (besides in numerous small, insignificant places) was in Star Trek. The media is what’s really going to kill the country, I mean, Bush memos from the Vietnam War??? OMG, the world’s going to end!!!

I’ve seen forums with a special deticated section for discussion about sensitive topics (like politics), maybe that would be a good idea here? Just a suggestion…

Well, that’s my opinion, feel free to disagree (hey, it rhymes!).

Actually fyhuang, Christians use the word soverign alot because it is the elimination of soverinty that leads to the NWO and the rule of the antichrist. A discussion Bush had in one of his first speeches after taking office.

Of course the rule of the Antichrist is nothing compared to what happens when someone steals my tag-line..!

anubis 101 Sep 22, 2004 at 13:39

you surely can can explain to me the things bush achieved in his term. actually i’d rather like to see the NWO and the rule of the antichrist instead of the current rule of the WTO. the matter of the fact is that if people like prick cheney proclaim that the economy is running great because : “a lot of people are making money on e-bay”, you know something has to be wrong (i still can’t believe he said that… what’s next ? people on the flea market drop out of the unemployment statistics ?).
it’s interesting how talk about sovereignty at any time can counterbalance the fact that you attacked a sovereign country and robbed it off its sovereignty, while tortuering a few people in it…
