I am currently looking for a plugin to convert directly to .x from
3dsmax program. I am having trouble getting the texture coordinates to
transfer properly with conv3ds. It has the right texture, but if I have
tiled textures on my mesh, it shows up only as one tile over the entire
mesh. I may have a code issue, so I’m going to look at that, but I would
still like to do the conversion directly from 3dsmax environment so I
don’t have to go to the DOS prompt. :D

Well, as luck would have it, I figured out the tiling problem just after
I posted the thread; however, I am still looking for the plugin for
converting directly to .x in 3dsmax environment. :rolleyes:

I tried both, but I can’t get the right version on the first to select,
and the second site was telling me to do something to a file that I have
no idea how to get. It was refering to XSkinExp.dle and I don’t have it.
I downloaded the 3dsmax sdk and am running 5.1, however, the file still
is not there. I think the tutorial is for an earlier version of
3dsmax….. Therefore, I am still looking for the pluggin……
The DirectX SDK contains the source code and Visual Studio project
needed to build XSkinExp.dle for 3DSMax 5 (and 5.1… and a separate
proj for the exporter for ver 3 & 4).
I’m in the same situation.. I want the exporter for 3DSMax 5.1. If I
manage to build it I’ll post a link… until then.. anyone else have
XSkinExp.dle for 3DSMax 5.1?
