Grome, the game level modeler, upgraded to version 3.1

Europe, Bucharest, October 12, 2011 – Quad Software announced today the release of the version 3.1 of Grome, the game level authoring tool used by professional game developers and companies from 3D simulation industry.

New version brings new tools and enhancement to existing ones, speed and memory management improvements. New extended compatibility is provided with external engines (Unity3D, Unreal Development Kit, OpenSceneGraph) and integration with external modelers (3DS Max, Maya, Blender) is achieved via industry standard Collada format.

Commercially available for over 4 years, Grome modeler is used for AAA game titles for latest generation consoles and for PC by companies like Ubisoft and Eidos, for mobiles platforms by Gameloft and for professional simulation applications by Boeing and Saab. Grome is also used by several universities for graphical courses and multimedia projects.

“This new version improve on our successful editing platform, main key elements of this update being significant speed gains to our terrain erosion algorithms, less memory consumption during rendering of large areas of landscapes and greater flexibility offered to our customers by providing means to use their own materials, shaders and geometry formats“, says Adrian Licuriceanu, Quad Software Technical Director in charge of Grome development.

Using various licensing models, Grome 3.1 is immediately available from the developer company site. This upgrade is free of charge for version 3.0 clients, while significant price discounts are available while upgrading from older versions.
