tested out pathtracing with tokaspt, its realtime! I get about 30 fps at 640x480 full spp. im not ever going back to rastering ever again!

I worked it out, its about 8 times faster than a gtx 480, they doubled the speed to get to the 580- then doubled again, 680- then two 680s is a 690.

Glad you have new hardware and you enjoy the performance(although not that impressive considering it’s price per performance ratio compared to the cheaper NVidia cards in SLI : P)
but you’re performance scaling dream is way off. : P
GTX 580 is only about 15-18% faster than a 480 GTX.
and GTX 680 is about 15-20% faster than a 580.

Not near 2x the performance per generation, and certainly no 8x ;)

yeh, i spose, i quickly went and implemented ambient occlusion, and your right… still too much work for it… :)
but the card seems to run quite quietly, which is heaps different than the gtx 480. im still experimenting with some raytracing, actually i got a question up if you know the answer thanks.
