Goal?

As we all here are interested in game development, we all want to make it big in the industry. We all don’t have no real way of going about a specific route for getting notice or gaining the attention in the industry. I find it very important to network, to meet many game developers who are both new and already have been in the industry awhile. Getting a game made with set specific dates for the development cycle is all good, but knowing the people you work along side on any given project is more important. Getting hook-ups in the industry is a key advantage in my book and I don’t take it lightly with a grain of salt. You may think this is irrevelant and you already know, but it’s a must if you want to make a name for yourself and your studios.

I want to say that instead of focusing on getting people onboard your project just for the sake of getting them interested. Why not form a studio of many people of the same interest who want to make the next big game, no matter the experience. We all learn how to do something in the industry one way or another, whether it’s story writing, art, modeling, programming or whatever. Why not take the time to get to know another game developer who may or may not share the same common love and passion for video games as you do. No matter if your so called big idea is something you want to do first, why not form a studio of people who can just come up with ideas together and learn together and just be as inventive as your previous idea. You can always work on your previous game ideas at any given time as we are not limit to just 1 idea. We all have to keep making more and more games to keep our fans happy.

So my point is why not focus on building more and more concrete gaming studios who can make plans for upcoming gaming titles and possibly continue the growth of the studio with branches, sounds like a smart idea to me instead of just trying to make a game idea head-on with chances of the project failing because the people are not being heard or not being helped or talked to as a friend with situations going on in life. We should be focusing on sharing the love and passion for making games. That’s what brought us all here today.

I’m not sure what your point is? Can you summarize it in one succinct line?

There are plenty of “concrete game studios” with parallel (branched) upcoming titles. And, people “not being heard” is partly bad management, which happens here and there, and partly done on purpose because what it amounts to sometimes is “scope creep”.
