Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone would be interested In writing
tutorials mostly basic for a game engine. The engine you ask is the
framework that 2d boy used to create world of goo. It is a 2d game
engine. I am myself trying to learn programming through it. It uses c++.
Well anyway have a very nice day.

firstly, that is a really big thing to ask. it also doesn’t make any
sense because there are plenty of tutorials about creating games (you
might start with the articles/tutorials section on this website, or the
archives at flipcode.com, or the nehe tutorials). thirdly, don’t try to
make world of goo right now because (a) it has already been done, and
(b), you won’t be capable of it for a long time. start with small
projects that you can actually finish. you might integrate learning
programing and learning game development by making up or finding
programming assignments for yourself that are related to game design.
for example, at first, you might invent a simple text based game. later,
you might try writing a small program that creates a window and makes
circles where the user clicks (this may sounds dumb, but that is the
basics of mouse input, understanding screen coordinates systems, etc).
also, “write games, not
Actually the engine is all ready done. It was released to the public
free of charge and I thought that it was really cool of 2d boy to do so
and I figured that it would be a great resource to learn from. I wasn’t
trying to recreate the engine but use it to help people including me to
learn how to program since it was allready a fully made engine. I was
thinking tutorials for use of that engine might help someone to learn.
Why don’t you learn the engine and then write some tutorials of your
own, for other people who might want to learn it?
AGen is a new 2D engine and framework specifically designed for the easy
and rapid development of games, game prototypes or other visual
applications. AGen is completely Lua scripted and allows you to make
games with little overhead and without a compiler. The engine has been
in the works for a while and still continues to improve. For the latest
updates on the project.
