Okay, so this isn’t a “i wanna make a game, what engine should i get?”
thread. My question is far more specific: Is there an engine that I can
use any kind of DSP with, and not have to program in C/C++?
I’ve been through a lot of engines and languages, and regardless of how
much I like any other feature on it, I hit a wall when I want to do
anything interesting with audio.
Here’s the problem: I’m a sound designer. Which means A) I really need
good audio support, and B) I’m NOT a programmer. I can do lots of
scripting, and a fair amount of programming in some languages, but I’m
still overwhelmed with C.
I’d like to make some sort of playable demo with good audio, including
things like reverb. Even with Panda3D, which supports FMOD, and has
functions for things like reverb, I hit a wall when there was no
documentation for DSP, and the only functions for fitlers and reverb
were in C and not Python, which the engine uses almost exclusively.
Am I doomed to have C force-fed to me if I want to make this, or does
anyone have any other light to shed? Thanks for listening.

but you should learn to code, its not that hard - even i did it and im a
complete idiot. :)
If you do a search for ‘fmod’ in the engines database, you get around 14
hits. You can have a look at them, and see if any of them have either a
better editor or better documentation.
You could also mod some of the well-known engines out there, like UE3 or
IdTech, their editors should be more than capable.
