Right after the summer holidays, the NHTV University in Breda, the Netherlands, starts a new 4-year program on game development, "International Game Architecture and Design". Last week, the course was finally officially approved by the Dutch government.
During the course, 60 programmers and 60 visual artists are prepared for the game industry in two separate branches. The students will be trained by industry veterans as well as people with a solid background in education. Besides the individual programs, the students work together a lot: There are common courses, courses to improve mutual understanding, and a GameLab, where project teams work together on a portfolio.
