Virtools Announces New Compatibility with CodeWarrior™ Technology for Game Development

Paris, France and Montreal, Canada, March 17th, 2006 - Virtools, a Dassault Systèmes company (NASDAQ: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), market leader in the world of interactive 3D development solutions, announced today its intention to offer technology that is compatible with CodeWarrior™ tools. This compatibility will provide developers with a broad range of high-end development solutions for popular gaming console platforms.

Freescale Semiconductor's Game Technology Organization creates CodeWarrior software, hardware products and services for game developers. The CodeWarrior product line includes development tools and middleware, offering a stable, market-proven compiler that enables the creation of compact, high-quality object code. By making Virtools products compatible with CodeWarrior technology, Virtools clients will be better positioned to produce cutting-edge games on top consoles.

"CodeWarrior is a powerful and yet easy to implement technology, and we are proud to soon be able to provide our customers with the ability to benefit from both technologies." said Bertrand Duplat, Virtools CTO.

"Virtools makes high quality middleware and tools for artists and developers – their products make the games feel real. There is a trend toward artists and developers blending roles, so it's a natural conclusion that the tools should work well together," said Roger Edgar, Business Manager for Freescale's Games Technology Organization.
