Xbox 2 Hardware Supports Shader Model 3.0

The Inquirer is reporting that Xbox 2 hardware begins to shape up as final graphics details emerge. The basis for Xbox 2 will be a R500 part, and will be ready well before the machine's launch in January. R500 will be a Shader Model 3.0 card, which is similar to the next-generation PC version of R520. According to some reports from NVIDIA, some Xbox developers were requesting GeForce 6800 cards to start developing SM 3.0 shaders. Read the full report here.
