Quake II Engine Ported to Java

The guys at Bytonic Software in Germany have done a full source port of the Quake2 engine from C to Java. According to the developer, it's performance is comparable to that of the C version and there's still room for improvement. Previously, quake 2 was ported to .NET (managed C++) to illustrate that one can easily port C code to C++, and run the whole application as a managed .NET application using the Microsoft Common Language Runtime (CLR) without noticeable performance delays.
