PathEngine SDK Release 5.24, New Licensing and Licensed Title Releases

Lyon, France - May 10th 2010 - PathEngine announces release 5.24.00 of their pathfinding and agent movement SDK, licensing to Dongseo University (South Korea), Eyasoft, NPluto (for 'Soul Master'), Barunson Games, and WeMade Entertainment (for 'Chang Chun 2'), and licensed title releases for 'Just Cause 2' (Avalanche Studios) and 'Metro 2033: The Last Refuge' (4A Games).

Elsewhere, CD Projekt Red have now 'officialized' the announcement of 'The Witcher 2', which is also a PathEngine licensed title.

Release 5.24 adds support for pathfinding from multiple start positions, some significant pathfinding speedups, improvements in curved path generation, helper methods and bug fixes.
(5.xx releases are now really just incremental improvements and maintenance for an essentially stable code base, with more significant new features also being developed in parallel for a version 6 release later on in the year!)

For a complete set of changes in this release, please refer to the SDK changelog.

About PathEngine

PathEngine was founded in 2000 to provide an extremely focused and modular solution to some fundamental issues in intelligent agent movement, based on hard industry experience.

The SDK is built around an advanced implementation of points-of-visibility pathfinding over three-dimensional ground meshes. Our approach enables pathfinding and collision in tight integration against a single, sophisticated, agent movement model, with agent shape taken into account exactly, seamless support for overlapping geometry, and with fast and robust dynamic obstacles directly integrated into the core movement model.

PathEngine is integrated with a host of triple-A titles, including 'Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts' (Rare, Microsoft Corporation), 'Stormrise' (The Creative Assembly), 'Pirates of the Burning Sea' (Flying Lab Games), 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation Troy' (Dimps Corporation), 'Titan Quest' (Ironlore Entertainment), 'Florensia' (NetTimeSoft Corporation), and many more.
