Puzzles were quite clever. You may want to make the laser travel a little faster.
The controls were odd though. I didn't like having to aim with the mouse then shoot with the 1 key. Could you make the mouse aim and shoot? Also, might want to add "Click or hit Enter" to close the popups.
You need to polish the text screens. They really cheapen the high quality of the visuals of this game. You could do tutorial screens in a similar fashion to how you did the credits - which were nicely done I must say.
Does S.A.M stand for anything? Might be worth thinking of.
Also check the grammar when they're bantering about the mom. It's "You're gross". There were a few others as well. But to be honest, I'd be cautious about what you talk about there, it wasn't particularly funny. BUT if there is ongoing banter between SAM and the battery (and it's tasteful) it will work well. You could also have their faces pop-up on the edge of the text screen, RPG style. Otherwise, don't use dialogue because the game lends itself well to a LIMBO style game where there wasn't dialogue.
I must confess, what originally drew me to this thread was the title. We're a start-up indie studio of university students, and we're building a game where we considered naming it "Discarded"
All the best guys! Are there other ways I could follow your progress on this project? I'd like to play it again and see where you take it
