Hello Game developers! :-)

I have been looking abit at Unigine and Quest3d.

But i am abit uncertain about what would be the best choice for us.
we are currently in the planning stage of making a Mmorpg, we allready have a team ready. 3d modelers, texture designer, 2 programmers, etc.

But after what i have learned, theres no support for networking on the Unigine engine?

And Quest 3d, should have some problems with big networks.
So i've heard.

So my thats actually my questions, are there anyone who can confirm that?

Or has some better alternatives.
Our budget for an engine is around 20.000 max.

(i would so much like to have the Hero Engine, but i think that abit over our budget) unfurtunatly ;)

Regards from Denmark.
Sorry for my kinda poor english spelling.

cheers.

From what I've seen and read, I would say that you'd have some trouble making an MMO using the above mentioned engines as they are not geared towards MMO (you're going to run into problems no matter what, making an MMO without prior extensive game development experience is definitely aiming high. Debugging distributed systems suck, worse than debugging multi-threaded apps. Don't know what I'm talking about? You will!)

My choice would be the hero engine to, but it's a little outside the budget.. However there are other to choose from, http://www.gamemiddl...ines/index.html has a list of MMO engines.
You also have http://www.realmcrafter.com, https://www.kaneva.com and torque has been used for (successful?) MMOG.
http://en.wikipedia...._charge_engines has another list. I guess you have already check the list on this site, I rememebr I found an indie or free/open source license MMO engine here some time ago that looked promising but I cannot find it right now(the search system on the engine database here sucks).

Good luck.
