Hi ppl,
I am a research student at a university with access to motion capture equipment. I am just starting a project, and I am wondering whether somebody can suggest a suitable game engine for me. I want to control a 3d model, in real time using the mocap sensors, in a virtual environment where it will be interacting with the world. I hope I am clear on my intentions.. if anyone wants me to clarify please let me know!
So my requirements basically are : 1) A game engine that can handle real time motion capture input, or one that is easy to build an application for it and
2) using that inputed data to control a 3d model while being in the engine.
thanx!

Now, I don't know if there have been advances in the field, but according to the most recent info I have (which is several years old though), mocap data required quite a lot of cleanup to be used in a game - so much, in fact, that hand-animation was a viable alternative..

Technology has indeed changed :)

have a look here, unreal engine 3 can already be connected in real time with mocap. But of course unreal engine 3 is expensive, and I am using a Vicon mocap!
