Hey all Im trying to learn directX for my next project and I was going over the D3D devices, vertex buffers and what not and I was wondering if plotting vertices is the only way to draw polygons or any kind of primitives. Thanks for the help!

Depends what you mean .. Essentially all primitive drawin in DirectX is done by plotting vertices. There are, however, classes that can make it easier to do more complex drawing. ID3DXMesh, for example.
