How does the leveling work on this forum? So far Ive seen:
new member
member
senior member and
valued member.
What do you have to do to move up a level?

Don't ask me. I think it's just the forum defaults.


If it would be me, leveling should be disabled. And the post-count display should be disabled as well.

Leveling and post-count implies some kind of status, and that pure bullshit. Just because User A as xhundret posts and the other has just 20 does not mean a shit about the skill / experience / whatnot. It just sais that user A have more time to kill than user B

Well it is useful to see if someone's new or not (and thus whether the person is probably not familiar with Devmaster's rules). But that distinction stops at, say, 10+ posts.

To answer the original question, the descriptions are based on postcount. At 30, you become a Member, at 100 a Valued Member, and at 300 a Senior Member.
