Hello there!

Information
Secret of Time is a story-driven action/adventure game developed by thirteen students from the Swedish school Gamemaker.
The original game was produced in approximately seven weeks, so we were on a tight schedule.

Platform
For now, the game is only available for Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista, but as we use Ogre as our graphics engine there should be no problems porting it to Linux and other OS:es.

Downloads
Installer for Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista (145MB).

Very nicely done. For 13 students to produce such a game in seven weeks shows great teamwork and dedication. I'll have to try this when I get home.

I just got around to playing it, not bad. Good composition of textures and lighting. Some shadow mapping would add depth to your environments though. Do you plan on continuing with this development? This sort of game fits in with others in the genre such as American McGee's Alice and MDK.

BTW, the menu music is pretty good, but doesn't seem finished. If I were Jonas, I would definitely finish it.

Thank you!
Shadow mapping is an alternative but it was such a performance hit and some extra work. We didn't have the time to add it and tweak it to get away with an acceptable frame rate.

This game project is finished, but the concept will stay alive.

That Jonas is me, and thank you =).
It is finished but it is not as long as a movie soundtrack.
The player won't stay in the menu for a very long time.

There are no current plans on selling the game =/. Many of the team members have been hired by different game studios. That's both good and bad.

Take care,

Well, this is a pretty good game a few things i want to point out though, and i know that i cant expect a free game to be as good as a paid for game, but i wanted to point out things that could be changed.

Not old graphic or audio card friendly- A few people like me, don't have these nice new cards everyones got, it lagged very bad. I turned the option off at the start screen, and still lagged. It didn't lag enough to truely effect the game play, but could have an option to turn some more of the graphics off.

3D Models- Awesome! I love the models in this game, but there could have been(not needed) an animation when Emily was standing still. Simple as moving her legs a bit, but It's not needed though.

The moves/controls/jumping- The moves are awesome, I like her move with the jump and time freeze, thats awesome. The controls are okay, but jumping is a bit hard. Well, that or the jumps are too hard. I keep getting stuck in levels because of jumps.

Lighting- The lighting was good at the start but got worse toward the end. I think i see where your going about getting nighttime, but the boss battle is tedious. It's way too dark to see where I'm going. Especially when theres 10 ball things, flying yellow jackets, and an old guy in laser beam trying to kill me! But the boss battle was the only big problem with the lighting.

Getting lost- The last thing about this game that I'll comment on. I got lost on the rooftops after failing some jumps. That brewery part was a pain too, i couldn't ever find where i was going.

Overall, a great free game made. An easy 8 out of 10
