Which version of Windows Vista do I need to build websites that can use asp? I've never done any website development before and I know you're thinking just google it but every google search I do just brings up loads of reviews of Vista that don't answer my question. I know Vista includes .NET3 but does that include asp.NET? I'm pretty sure you had to use XP Professional to use asp.NET, has this changed?

I'm thinking of buying a nice shiny laptop on which I would like to build some websites so I just want to make sure it has a version of Vista installed that can do this stuff.

You're right, it was a stupid question
The question you should of asked is "What editions of Vista include IIS?"
IIS is Microsoft's web server. It looks like home premium and up.

Here is instructions on how to install ASP.net.

See I knew I was searching for the wrong thing, my search string was 'building asp websites using windows vista" and I expected I'd get some tutorial site that would tell me the required version... honestly I'm just dumb when it comes to finding stuff. I know the search engines aren't particularly clever and need help but in this case it just didn't produce what I needed.

Cheers Dave ;-)

I can never find stuff either.

I'm surprised that "building asp websites using windows vista" didn't pop up a load of homo porn or something tbh. :wallbash:
