Greetings Devmaster community Members,

I think of Game Programming as a book, I read books alot and when you get into a book its like your own world, you could be at war facing evil pirates, or on a beach for a vacation. There are funny, sad, scary and lots of other emotions you get when reading a book. But with a game you can compile all you ideas into code. I am hoping to sometime make a mmorpg for free and then make another one for PayToPay Known as PTP. I need books on DirectX 9.0c or really good tutorials that will teach the information so I can set sail and learn about directX, since I am new to directX I will prolly need really detailed Tutorials if anyone here can help I would be clapping my hands like a little gnome.

are you thinking about managed directx with c# or unmanaged with c++ ?

ps : also try entering "directx tutorials" into google... it might help ;)
If Prolog is the answer, what is the question ?

C++ is a difficult langauge to start with and DirectX can be a hassle to learn first. Why don't you start out with Python and Panda3D and for a beginning textbook, see the downloads at How to Think Like a Computer Scientist: Programming in Python. That way you can get a feel for programming to know whether or not you really want to get into it.

Just go for C++ if you haven't already. Start out there, it's not that hard if you are dedicated. If you want a alright intro book, and I mean really basic, try:

And

Again, they are VERY basic, but can provide a nice start. Other than that:
