Description
An example of jumping ball simulated with Pressure Soft Body model. This novel technique I am trying to force simply allows to simulate behavior of soft bodies which you can imagine as empty bodies with an gas inside. I've used basics of cloth dynamics spring mass system model together with an additional force (Pressure) which keeps constant volume of the body. Technique is able to solve soft body dynamics problem in real time (for games).

More informations about this technique you can find on my web page http://www.matyka.pl" or in a SIGRAD'03 publication http://www.ep.liu.se...07/ecp01007.pdf.

You can find on my home page complete explanation: how to implement two dimensional model of soft bodies (source code is included).

This example has been prepared especially for a lecture I gave for high school students at University of Wroclaw. The Monte Carlo Ray Tracer used for visualization in this animation has been written by my friend Kamil Trojan.

That's pretty nice. What kind of numerical integration method are you using?

1) technique has been updated a little bit
2) I *forgot* that I've already posted this
3) you are right, I shouldn't do this - I will remember next time to check if I've already posted same results.

A very educational post you have here. while I was reading the article I realized that i never got bored of learning science for the first time... I am impressed by the way the author explained and presented the topic.

I know that this topic is a little old, but this technique is still very helpful, I had a lot of fun practicing everything that I learned from this topic. This post inspires me a lot and I will try to create some techniques of my own.
