I am currently playing around with the open-source Manta Ray tracer developed by the Scientific Computing Institute (SCI) at the University of Utah -
http://www.sci.utah....6/rtrt_coe.html
I have installed and compiled the Manta repository
- by following the instructions at http://code.sci.utah...x.php/Main_Page
However, I am having problems importing a (.obj) model into Manta by converting it into .v3c1* format
- as described in http://code.sci.utah...ee-model-import
I am unable to build the kd-tree as the build tool is not included in the repository but is not available for download
- from the page at http://code.sci.utah...php/Khoff-build
Can anyone help ?
Thanks in advance

Why don't you ask the Manta community this question? They would certainly be better equipped to help you than we would.

I have emailed them and am awaiting a response. I was just wondering if anyone had encountered the same problem and already solved it.

FYI : They replied that the kd-tree build tool is unavailable outside of the commerical software licence, so unless you write your own version, you can only render files in the .obj file format :(
