Interesting: good article, I'm only half way through but it's already resonating with me.

It's funny: not that I do *all* of these, but the ones I do, I've never thought about in such terms.

It reminds me of what someone once said about developers and design patterns: not all developers know the formalized names, but the good ones can identify which ones they know after having been explained a few.
(I love putting terminology to things I already do in practice!)

I can't say I agree with #2 on that list.
If you can classify your game in a list of games that other games belong in, what's really the point? You're just doing something everyone else did.
Also, if you can sum up a game in 3 words, it probably won't be a big hit.

Other than that, they are all totally cool, and it is totally bookmarked.

I really think you've missed the point. You can do this for any game, even successful ones.
