3dmax 9 to .x format

hi, i'm making a little game, i have made a model in 3dmax with some animations, but now i want to export to directx file format (.x) i know about the panda 3d exporter tool but is too old and my 3d max 9 say that panda 3d plugin if for another version of 3dmax, anyone here can tell me how I do change de format from .3ds to .x, thank you in advance.

Doesn't the DXSDK come with some exporter plugins? I don't know for sure since I stripped my august 2006 version down to the bare essentials I need, but I do recall seeing some plugins included with the package.

The SDK came with a Maya .X exporter that I use. Being that Max has been more game-centric than Maya, logic would dictate the SDK would also include a Max .X exporter.

Note, I had to do a few google searches for instructions on how to install the plug in for Maya. It wasn't obvious from the MSDN docs.

I use max 9 , and i know for a fact that it exports to .x format.

I'm fairly sure vanilla max9 does not have the required 3rd party plugin to do it.
