I don't know why, but my new computer doesn't seem to want to save files in their appropriate formats.
For example: I create an image in Paint... click file->saveAs: filename.bmp
and when it gets done, and I go to use it within a program, it won't load because it states that it's file type is:
DVDXPlayer.Media
What the hell is this, and how do I get rid of it? I"ve uninstalled my DVDXPlayer program
Need some help

What do you mean by "use it within a program"? Do you mean when you double click on the file in Explorer, it won't open? If that's the case, try right-clicking, going to Open With->Choose Program, then choose the appropriate program to open the file and also tick the box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". That should let it open in that application from then on.
