I'm new to designing games. This will be my first attempt. I like to set my goals high, so could anyone tell me of a good engine for an FPS game that requires little or no programming. Thanks for the help! Have a good day!:)

Erm ... you could buy Half-Life 2 and play that? ;) But i don't think you can write your own FPS without doing any coding. You could possibly get away with building new content on to an existing engine (ie new Levels and your own story line) but you can't do any thing "different" without writing quite a bit of code ...

I do have some credible amount of coding. I have some C# and a little C++, but still learning as I go. Sorry I sound like a noob. I've used the HL2 SDK before. I was just looking for an engine that would be good for a 3rd person shooter or an FPS.

Well i reckon Source Engine is likely to be your best choice ... haven't really played with it's SDK but the HLSDK was a piece of proverbial to get ya head round :) I used to know a few modders who had learnt C++ coding making a mod!

the best advice I could give would be to find a mod project for a popular FPS game, and learn along with a group of other people sharing your same goals. Learning to work as part of a team is an important part of game development too!

Lemme think... you are new to "Designing Games".. . are you a game designer ?

games with little programming.... you gotta be kiddin... I get nightmares of codes flyin around me...
even moding requires programming to get what you want. But if you just wanna play around then modding would be your choice.
