Could we moderate these messages? Similar postings, year in, year out ..it's getting bit boring.

I'm depressed. I'm depressed and in need of medication. Anyone tell me where to get the medication? If I can't buy a medication, I'd like to have a reserarch team who makes the medication for me. I've got a really good idea for a medication.
EDIT: Probably shouldn't post it, but the fact is that:
a) I am depressed
b) Threads like this one make me feel even more depressed
c) I've got an excellent idea for a medication that cures all kinds of depression. Really, once you take it you're cured of all your mental ailments, even the schizophrenia. Now that I've got such a decent idea I REALLY need a team to help me make this medication.
... is it the right forum for this kind of request?...

I want to make a game as good as Elder Scrolls oblivion with no programming, just point&click. If it's not possible, I want a team of programmers I'd be able to order around. After all, I'm a n00b.

Just make a sticky and post the link to it on everyone post like it but to apiron, the reason that people aren't exactly begging to join your team is because they see the exact same thing day in and day out. Have you ever programmed any other games before and if you have how extensive have they been? You should probably show off what you can do if you've done anything. Also a mmorpg is definatley NOT for a beginning programmer. Your game won't even fit the term mmorpg as it won't be massive unless you have the funds to back it. Try getting just getting a team of people with about your experience and making simplier games and building up and by then you'll be a better programmer and maybe ready to start your own morpg.

You know I usually take these, but this one is 2d so...
Anyway, maybe you could make a standard response for these kinds of posts, and just cut and paste?
How about a standard programming exercise? Pick a simple project, and have everyone complete it before going further. I like the pong game. I think that one is a good start.
Something like "Here's directions on how to program a game of pong (insert link). Making an MMORPG is a bit harder than pong. If you find this project overly challenging, you might want to reconsider programming an MMORPG from scratch."

I don't know about a bit harder... I don't know if someone would want to actually lay out the steps for even a 3d rpg which would take a long while and then tell the person it will be 100x harder then that just by adding multiplayer into it. It's mostly because these people are younger and want to make a fun game but they just don't know how hard it really is.

If you just want to make a 2d MMORPG i suggest you use Player Worlds
It free and pretty easy, not much scripting either.

 I get the sarcasm, but you make a good point. I've never seen a post like this:
"I've built a complete, top of the line, next generation engine and tool chain from scratch, but I can't seem to come up with an idea for a game. Does anyone have a great new idea they would be willing to share? I'd love to sign an NDA and fork over big bucks for it!!!"

Yeah cause most people possesing such technology either already have an idea (and work on it) or just don't want to make a game (cause they just want to show off the technology & sell licenses), at least from what I've seen so far.
Btw why doesn't the OP at least post a replie, just wondering? :D

hmmm.... making an engine is not so bad an idea after all.
btw, i didnt get the point of making a game for fun anyway.rather make an engine, it'll fetch u the knowledge atleast. and if it turns out to be good, it might become viable to sale.
a game on the other hand will either sell from day 1 or its just for funn... he he.
