I'm looking for a site used to search for and/or buy computers. The reason is that I'm doing an assignment in my computer science class and the teacher's a lazy dumbass who would rather give us meaningless projects than actually teach us something.
I've been to bestbuy.com and tigerdirect.com etc., but most computers there are missing something that's in the assignment requirements: the computers must have a wireless card pre-installed. They also need to be loaded with Windows XP and some Office software, must have at least two optical drives (including a DVD-RW drive), must have a 56k modem pre-installed, etc.
None of the sites that I've been to have computers with all of those requirements. Maybe if a site had a nice search engine with those categories... but I haven't seen a site with any search engine that complex.
Thanks in advance.

A desktop PC with a wireless card? What's the point of that?
reedbeta.com - developer blog, OpenGL demos, and other projects

For if you have a PC upstairs or something (this is my situation as well).
But my teacher has the wireless card on the set of requirements, so that's what I have to find. My computer science teacher is a dumbass. He doesn't even know HTML.

Why not make it up? Choose some site like Dell, give an approx cost for your customised computer and assignment done.
Then spend the homework time writing to the head of department about how poor the teacher is.

Ed Mack: I think I need to provide a link to the page on which the computer is located, so making it up wouldn't work..
Zukko: Dell.com doesn't work very well. A lot of their computers shown are very customizable-- so customizable to the point where they can't even give you specs, just options.

Then just use your own specs and put together a custom PC. That's how Dell works... I believe you can "save" the computer too. Cookie or URL based, I don't remember.

Forget Dell. That's just not going to work.

You wont find many places that offer those specs
Dell is the best option. You'll just have to put your brain into gear.
The top of the range pc's will have the stuff you want without even having to customise them
And it sounds like your teacher is getting the students to find the best deal for him!

Well, I finished the assignment. Apparently, we were allowed to add parts from other sites and I don't remember him ever telling us that.
Thanks anyway for the help, guys.
