Hello,

Please add one more section on the top link bar as "GAME PUBLISHER" like 3D Engines Database | Wiki | Articles/Tutorials | Game Jobs | IRC Chat Network | Contact Us.

This could be one important section on this site.

I have no idea what you're trying to suggest. What is a GAME PUBLISHER section?

"GAME PUBLISHER section" means the companies who publish games.

For Example: EA Games, Activision, Ubisoft, Eidos etc.

These names are very popular and almost many people know about these companies. But there may be so many other companies are there who publish games.
Like your section "3D Engines Database" we people getting knowledge about various game engines details, like this we want to know about various details on game publishing.

Those who are developing games but not able to publish in their own site, they people wants to know about more on publishing.

So this section could be very useful to people like us...

If you're meaning just a list of publishers, I'm not sure how that warrants an entire extra section to the site. Besides which, companies which are likely to interest publishers will have the basic google skills necessary to find publishers and contact them.

That's just my opinion.

like:

www.simtel.net/upload
www.fileplanet.com/submitfile.aspx
www.tucows.com
... and so on

thats would be helped to that programmers who dont have hosting yet,

That is a great idea, that has cropped up over and over again. It keeps getting shot down for one reason: it isn't needed. There are already sites that perform a similar function, and posting a link to them as an announcement in the forums is usually enough.

Where are the links to those directories?

The links he is refering to would be in the Personal Announcements forum. If you mean links to sites that host projects, SorceForge.net is the big one for open source stuff. There are many others. I've played around with OpenSVN.

Cheers monjardin. Also, for mods, Moddb is great, and for hosting files, there are several mirrors and file hosts around, a simple google search can land you with one to suit your needs.

I was asking about a link to a page that has a big list of sites to upload to, not just a single site. I don't see any in the Personal Announcements forum..

was said, it was referring to Devmaster.net hosting his project, making a database of projects for poeple who have projects, and no hosting.

If you feel there should be a site that gives links to places where people can upload files for general download, a five-second Google search of "free file hosting" got me this.

This seems to work fine.

Ahh that's not what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about a directory of pages like Gamehippo.com, Tuxgames.com, Happypenguin.org, Download.com -- places where you can submit your game/program, not just for hosting purposes.

Well, it looks like you've started a nice list. Why not put it in the wiki? Then DevMaster.net will have exactly what you're looking for. ;)

It's been a few years, but I finally got around to it. :P

http://www.devmaster...r_finished_game

Could somebody link to this from the Wiki's main page (or at least from a "Business" subpage which could get a link from the main page)?

It appears I cannot; even though I'm registered and logged into the wiki, I'm told the main page is protected.

Oh, looks like you're right. My apologies. We probably did that to protect it from spammers. Anyway, I've added a link to your page.

Awesome, thanks.
I created another page, List of advertising networks upon which you can advertise your finished game. If you get a chance, perhaps you could add that, too. Or, better yet, I've linked to both articles from a couple of higher "category"-like pages as shown:

--Business
----Promoting your game
------the game directory list linked above
------the advertising network list linked above

I made a section on the front page called "Business Development" that links to "Promoting your game".

BTW, I'd prefer using less verbose article titles. No need to move the ones you've already created, but an article called "Advertising Networks" is probably better than "List of advertising networks blah blah blah", if you see what I mean.
