Hi I use an engine called quake 2 evolved. It is a quake 2 engine with doom 3 features. It has normal mapping, gl shaders programs, mtr support, md3 models, per pixel lighting! and many other things! The problem is the map format! It is still quake 2's! I have tried numerous times to add q3 map support to it and have failed. I was hoping for help form someone with more knowlege then me!
What I would like to do is try and add a q3 bsp format to q2e! The hardest part of this task would be getting the new q3 bsp map to work with q2e's lighting system!What I was hoping for is a map format that holds geometry, entity, and texture info! lighting is done through an external text file! I would want the q3 map to work much like the old q2 map does in q2e!

There is a quake 2 engine with ppl and normal mapping that had q3 map support called qfusion fx...this engine is hard to use though and does not have a singleplayer story mode ability! I thought though that looking at its code might help out a bit...you can find it here

Typh you nut! For your info this non programmer has almost finished the render code for the q3 bsp format...I am just haveing some issues! And i cant seem to get the colision code to work right! So I was hoping to get some help from a real programer but...Typhontaur is too busy for any of us at q2e....he is working on his own engine...try reading your signature if you want to know more about what your other personality is doing!
