actually i was out boozing and having fun. well, until i went home to get some more money. on the way a barefooted asian woman cam running in my direction chased by an old man ( 60 - 70 ). when he reached her he grabed her ankle and pulled her away from me. i was running after them and asked the woman what had happened. she couldn't even answer because this guy was pulling her away even harder. he was headed for the hospital on the other side of the street ( which wasn't their direction previously... at all ). i was still following them because the whole situation was kind if odd. when i reached them again the asian woman turned around, grabbed my hand and said thank you several times. then she told me that i should leave them alone. no surprise that she said that. she had obviously been beaten and she had burn marks from cigs or something in her face. again this guy started pulling her away, this time into the hospital. i took a seat outisde waiting for them to come out again. it was pretty clear that he wanted to call the cops. anyway, hospital security arrived soon and i had a talk with them. they were very friendly and they appreciated that i wanted to help. this guy told them that i had threatened them, etc. every single word a lie. he claimed that the woman had lost her shoes while "running" away from me. he had no explanation for the burn marks and everything else. he couldn't care less though because this woman said yes to everything he said and told the security not to call the police. i place my bet on "woman ordered from ...somwhere". she might have been here illegally or something. anyway, i felt pretty bad afterwards because there was no way of helping her... what are you supposed to do in such a situation... i hope i did the right thing

anyway, it's horrible that i couldn't be of any help. on the other hand maybe some day this poor woman will understand and defend herself.

if it will happen that this will be the "too much" beating for her to stand up and fight (means, run away and point with the finger:D the way we learned fighting in school, too:D), then it would at least mean it got a good result.
just be sure, anubis. you haven't done anything wrong. he is wrong in what he is doing, and deserves the punishment. she is wrong in not doing anything, but there isn't much you can do about that.
you haven't changed anything for her, possibly. because just because she ran away will mean he fill fight against her anyways, no mather that you punshed him around as well..

My friend works at the Red Cross in his free time and he really sees some bad things from time to time. Luckily I live in a rural area so it's not too bad but our world becomes worse and worse. Maybe this is a pessimistic opinion but just read the newspapers...

after bush's election, and short later, at 9/11, i lost that dream..
and today.. well.. this world is gone insane. this time, it's capitalism that will kill us, or kill itself, or both, or what ever.. it got out of control....
in the middle of this year i believed at least MY life.. i had all i ever wished..
now, at the change to 2004, i see a dark, lost place around myself, surrounded by a dark, crazy world..
yeah.. that like..
btw, snape. you have a very cool avatar!
