Ok there are 2 engine that have bothered me 3drad was listed as updated nothing is updated in that engine. Another person also said the same.
My review was deleted.

bfengine has not had a download link since it was added and not made any changes or the site.
I posted the above another person agreed with me but our post were deleted in favor of a "nicer post". On both occcasion the last post was the nicest one.

Is it against the rules to post the truthabout a possible fake engine, or is devmaster too nice.

I don't know about devmaster's policy on how/why they will delete a post or review. But I do understand your beef with 3D Rad.

I remember when it first came out and I tried the demo. I wasn't too impressed, but the engine looked like it had potential. Now after all there years their website still has a stupid design and layout and very little "real" info about the engine.

Then you have the reviews here on devmaster where they say the engine in it's current state is great, but the demos available are out of date. Now I don't know anything about the engine on whether it good or not, but with the website looking like it was done by a middle-school student and lack of any kind of up-to-date demo for the current version of their product I find an inability to take it seriously.

I agree with you, maybe devmaster is too nice, but then again I didn't read the posts or reviews they deleted on you. Maybe they though you whined too much or something. Still, I think you have a right to complain as the company doesn't have any demos to support the claims of the (good) reviews or update their website enough to give us any real information.

Either way I have no interest in 3D Rad for reasons stated above and consider it a "dead" engine and any price is too much just to find out what is up with it.

Well it is the best engine in the whole world, so I of course boosted its image a bit... only kidding.

This is probably just miscommunication. Send an email to the editor explaining the mess (Alexey Busygin, http://www.devmaster...ember.php?u=974) and I'm sure it'll get cleared up

If you post an objective review, and keep it civil then they generally don't get deleted. I've had a few deleted from my engine because they were full of false "facts".

Although I do agree it could be misused.

Jermaine: Your reviews had a couple of problems. First, they screwed the page formatting because you added hundreds of dots (attempting to bypass the character limit?). This additionally showed that you weren't very serious when writing your review. Second, complaining about the unavailability of a download for an engine that is not public and not even in beta stage is not constructive. Third, giving a zero in every aspect of the rating is not really sensible.

Generally, we delete reviews after the author of the engine complains. Of course, the review is reviewed carefully and objectively before taking action.

Bottom line: it's about being objective, and not about being too nice.

I have said this before, the amount of crap engines on the engine database makes the whole DB useless. Probably why there is a new thread every week on "what 3d engine should i use for my MMORPG?"

How can you give an engine you have never used a rating? BFEngine is in alpha. I can confirm that it is still in development. It has a valid spot in the engine database. 3DRad, while I've never been impressed by it, is an engine and therefore has a spot on the engine database. It also should never get zero stars for ease of use.
