Hey guys...

Think of this as research...

What are you guys getting for a salary every month? I think it will be interesting to see the diffences and for the type of programming that you do!

cheers!

A lot of people (me included) will not be willing to share their salary details with random members of the board. If you really want this information, maybe you can create a little poll for ppl to fill in?

I agree with SpreeTree.

Your salary is a contract between you and your employer. Noone else needs to know exactly *what* I make, as the wrong people knowing could make things uncomfortable.

Something anonymous, like a poll, shoudl be more than enough to get an average of people's salaries.

There are a few of these around: http://www.gamasutra...1/survey_01.htm

I struck the gold mine once I started getting paid in monopoly money. I had to throw away my browns in favor of the oranges.

Oh, and I'm treated with utmost respect here. The boss never hesitates to give me a raise!

Just because Canadian money is colourful, doesn't make it monopoly money. :P

Here's an article from Software Development. It seems less than 3% of developers work on games/multimedia. The top salaries favored service-oriented languages with Python scoring surprisingly high and C++ landing in the middle of the pack.

The best perk I ever had at a job was when this Hippie I worked with would regularly come by and toss a baggie on my desk... Those were the days... :w00t:

Here in sweden, everyones salary is avaiable as a public document. http://sv.wikipedia....eringskalendern

Of course, it is based on the salary you actually pay tax for...

Here is an honest answer:
I charge 35$ to 50$ an hour, depending on the kind of work that is needed. It really depends on experience(shipped titles), how good you are, and who you know.

I think your question is pointless as salaries usually depend on local economics, so absolute numbers don't tell you anything. Person A in one country can make a lot more than person B in another country, while person B can actually purchase more as the expenses for living in that country are much lower.
