Does anyone know of an multiplayer FPS that can be played flawlessly on 56k?
Some Requirements: There must (still) be a considerable amount of people playing it, it must be a traditional shooter (like Quake or Unreal Tournament), and it must be 50 megabytes or less. I'd prefer if it were free, but this is definately not a requirement. Also, it would be a plus if 3D acceleration were an option.
A semi-related question: Does anyone know if Quakeworld does well on dial-up?
Thank you for any help you can offer.
Is there still hope for my modem?

The only one that comes to my mind is Duke3D. I don't know wheter it's playable over internet, but it certainly worked using direct serial connection. Don't know how many people still play it, though.

I played quake(world) using dial-up, works all-right if you can reach a good gameserver without too much latency.
