To be as succint as possible:
I'm looking for a development tool that has these features:
Dynamic 3D Text and Primitive loading and positioning at runtime
2D GUI package (most critically a multiline editbox) (like CEGUI)
Flexible use of Multidimensional Arrays
Flexible File Read/Write Functions
Flexible Camera/3D Navigation controls
Preferably Open Source (I'm a student on a limited budget)
And preferably has these features:
Networking capability
Platform Independence
I'm not trying to create a game per se, but I imagine that I need to use a 3D game development package to create it. I've looked extensively for a package that has all of these things, but haven't been successful.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
P.S. - I'm not the most experienced programmer. I've done extensive scripting in a language akin to C. I figure I can learn the language of whatever package I pick up, but I'm also trying to minimize the learning curve.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
