"igLoader is a cross browser plugin that allows virtually any windows based software to be delivered and operated within the browser window. igLoader is unique in its implementation and simplicity; igLoader is not based on ActiveX technology and, as such, is compatible with browsers such as Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer."

"How easy is it to enable my applications?
Simplicity is the key here. Pack the application files into a .igl archive (we provide details on how to do this) and upload to your website. The plugin will download the .igl archive and will extract the files to a unique directory on the client hard disk, keeping your application directory structure intact! You do not need to pack all files including media into one .exe!"

I welcome all comments and questions. If you have questions about pricing then please contact me via the website as I am not in a position to discuss such matters on a public forum. You may request a quotation here : http://igloader.com/rfq.php

If you are interested in becoming a reference site for igLoader then please contact me via the website to discuss further.

Does it also compress the files for a smaller download?

You could just have a link to a zip file. It gets downloaded when you click the link. So what’s the advantage over a zip file?

He said it lets you play games IN THE BROWSER; not just download and install them from the browser. Doesn't sound very safe.

Files served by igLoader require a license key, this key is unique to each application. The key is generated by Indiepath and is based on file specific information. If the key is not present, incorrect or cancelled then the file archive will not be downloaded. By cancelled I mean that if the key has been flagged on our servers as hacked or invalid. If one of our customers breaks the terms of the license and starts doing naughty things then we cancel the license - simple. To summarise, unlicensed software can not be delivered.

How is this safe? What stops me from writing a virus, disguised as a game, that infects the computers of the people playing my "game"?

A license only stops me from using your plugin, but what if I write my own and tell people it's yours? And who's to say that you are really reliable?

I, for one, would never install a plugin that can run normal code on my machine. The reason that it's different for java applets, flash, virtools and the like is that it runs code (actually it's interpreted) in a sandbox, a safe environment that shouldn't be able to go outside the control of the browser.

This is not really an igLoader only question; you could write a virus and deliver in using a normal install package. If you do attempt to use igLoader for such activity then we can invalidate your licenses and prevent you from making further installs, we would also have your details to pass on to the relevant authorities.

We can not stop you writing your own plugin, you can try and pass it off as ours and I would thank you for the free advertising. However, without our digital signatures I am sure you would have a few problems proving it's authenticity. I am unsure of your question regarding reliability, if you need to check that code is authentic then please check the digital signatures.

Granted, there are many people who share your views. There are also many individuals and organisations embracing this technology.

Your website seems to have a lot of buzz talk and less supportive information. I would strongly suggest taking the time to post screenshots for people (such as myself) who do not want to download your plug-in just to see a demo.

Also, why use your plug-in over a free, widely available, widely popular, widely supported Java Applets? If your program is intended for the web, then you should stick to the technologies that have been built for it with many years of development and testing. Yahoo Games, EA Pogo, and Popcap are excellent examples of how powerful Java Applets are.

Yahoo, EA Pogo, Popcap, MiniClip, Arcade Town and Big Fish, to name but a few, are already using similar technologies - our solution works with all browsers, they only support IE, our offering has several layers of security, they lack any secure measures. I would also like to add that this is not a replacement for Java or Flash, it is an alternative to re-developing an application in those languages.
