Half Life 2: Delay in replying to delay delayed

Mr Vivendi "talking out of his butt" - a sort of miracle

By INQUIRER staff: Thursday 09 October 2003, 16:26

OUR SOURCES continue to reiterate that Half Life 2 is not delayed, and that, in rather pungent language, the Vivendi guy that reckoned that it would be pushed back to April next year "was talking out of his butt".
While Valve still hasn't made any official statement, there is a quote by Doug Lombardi over at halflife.org saying Valve is still assessing the "effects of the attack".

That was in response to a question specifically asking if Half Life 2 is postponed until April next year.

Our source added that the Vivendi mister hadn't even talked to Valve for around a year or so, and decided to give his own take on the affair, as the saga continues.

Wonder where that Valve official statement is? µ

Even though HL2 isn't coming out for any other OSs other than windows, I'll still be playing it.

Also, I wouldn't hold out hope that ut2004 will have linux support. ut2003 did, but u2 didn't :/.
ut2004 is definately coming out with linux support, with an installer on the cd's like ut2003 (hopefully one that works properly this time ;))
It will also be a 6 gig install :o

i'm pretty sure most of the games that want to be big in the online multiplayer market will come out for linux these days for the obvious reason ( the one that linux is big in the server market :) )

Half-life has a dedicated linux server, and has done since very soon after the release.
This is true for many games. It doesn't, however, mean that we'll get linux clients. Linux may be big in the server market, but for the desktop market, it's yet to make a sizeable dent.
