Now here's an interesting concept for an MMOG. Comments?

The Paradise Project ™
Be a colonist on an unknown planet and create a new society
www.gaminginparadise.com

The Paradise Project ™ is a massively multiplayer online game playable from any PC that was created to offer players the opportunity to live out a second life within a virtual world. It allows players to live a worry-free and challenging life outside of real world constraints. But just as in real life, it is a world where every aspect is either natural or controlled by other players like you who have their own goals, aspirations, interests and ambitions. Play your role in a virtual society that is built completely by players, from equipment to food, from houses to shops, and even vehicles and tools. No computer help, just a bunch of players taking up a variety of challenges and having fun in the process!

Are you up to the challenge?

What benefit do I get by playing this game?
· Everything you create is unique, from your family to your business, from your in-game look to your home. Players even have the liberty to create their own rules, associations, laws and governments!
· You control what will be your destiny, not the computer.
· You can interact with a multinational, multicultural community containing players that are interdependent or create your own unique community and decide who will be a part of it. All of this taking place on the same planet.
· You can build new skills over time and become an expert if you wish or simply relax and be a part of the community.
· There is no need for specific career paths. You can utilize the 42 different skills available to develop whatever expertise you desire. Whether it is to develop a career, to be a champion at sports and games, to go on adventures, to make scientific discoveries or to overcome any challenges the world provides.
· You will be able to travel around an unexplored world, discover different cultures, ancient artifacts, alien sceneries, and life forms in the comfort of your home.
· Have a direct and permanent impact on the storylines and the fate of whole communities as the actions of your player character can affect all the lives on this world full of mysteries.
· You will never get bored, as changes are constant, even when you are asleep!
· Within 30 minutes of play, you will have a great sense of accomplishment and joy!
The game will be released in Autumn 2006.

At that point you will be FREE to download and you will receive 14 FREE days to check it out before making any commitment to the game.

thanks.

We're not worried about lagg issues much since we'll probably be using the BigWorld MMOG engine for our concept, which takes care of much of these issues.

The Paradise Project will be able to handle litterally more than a million players simultaneously in one seamless world. It will also be capable of handling more than 500 medium poly-count characters within a 100m by 100m radius without lag difficulties. Now that isn't half bad.

Isn't Bigworld pretty expensive? I thought I saw on GarageGames that you were using TSE as your engine?
