We could use another programmer for the TA Spring project (http://taspring.clan-sy.com) to help with map rendering and graphics code in general. TA Spring is a 3D version of the old Total Annihilation with many users already playing online (about 100 on saturdays). It should eventually be a more general rts engine able to run more than just TA mods.

Here are a few screenshots:

We have many ideas to improve graphics quality, but lack the time to implement them. The team members page on the site is outdated, there are actually about 3 people actively working on ta spring, and we are busy with linux porting, bugfixing and a new script system.

You won't get paid for this, but if you intend to work on cool graphics anyway (as many here will), it could be nice to work on a game that has a user base already.

What would very much be appreciated is improving the water rendering or making a map renderer that can draw at a larger distance beyond the "play area". As you can see the map borders are very visible, which makes you feel less "immersed" in the game. A fast dynamic lighting system could also be nice to investigate on.

You can send your application mail to
taspring at clan-sy.com
