I have just started learning about game engines and trying to grasp terminology used which is quite exciting.
However, I was told to evaluate game engines looking at their features and I have done that but have to look at things like speed, memory constraints, support for parallel processing and multithreading, hardware constraint etc. which I am having a very hard time doing.
I do not know how to go about doing this or where to find this information. Please help...

I am certainly no expert on which engine is the best. I've heard a lot of good things about OGRE, but this is more of a rendering engine rather than a game engine (meaning that it will draw your graphics, but it won't manage your physics calculations or networking). For the devmaster community to give you a better answer, it would help if you could tell us what sorts of projects you would like to tackle (First Person Shooter, Single Player RPG, MMORPG, Physics simulation). I'm sure many other members can give better advice regarding this.
I'm not sure if there are any benchmarks comparing one engine to the next, but I do agree that this would be a helpful and interesting statistic.

One of the engines I am evaluating is the Torque engine. I do not know how to go about finding this information (speed, memory constraints, support for parallel processing and multithreading, hardware constraint etc.)
We have not yet decided on the genre of game we will be making. Before we decide on this I have to find this information.

Please don't post multiple threads for the same topic. I'll close this one, and keep the other open.
