Description
Just a teaser of the motion blur in Sylphis3D. As you can see this is not a fake-blend-over-the-last-frame type of motion blur.

This is the real thing! It is independent of the frame rate. You can actually set the simulated shutter speed you like. You can have shutter speeds bigger or lower that the frame time, only the shutter speed affects the amount of motion blur.

You can also set shutter speeds per object. You can control the motion blur amount per object, so that other object blur more and others less.

This is a simulated 24 sub-frame motion blur and it runs on any video card that supports GLSL shaders.

Very interesting.

How is the effect created? Especcially per-object basis puzzles me.

What makes it "simulated" rather than real?

Harsh! True.

Umm, The Offset Engine http://www.projectoffset.com hs that also. It does make it look quite cool. Go to their tech page for info on how they do it.

I saw the movie, but it didn't show the same effect as your large screenshot did. Personally I like the lighting within the environment more than the motion blur concept =) It's very soothing.

Also, on your website, is that second screenshot from some sort of System Shock remake? Just seeing that screenshot brought back good memories =)
