I think books like those would have a very steep learning curve if you don't have knowledge on the programming language [in which a book covers]. however, if you were to pursue C/C++ via a class or even another book, then yes the gametutorials book would be worth buying.

What a rip-off :excl: , you are better off with online tutorials and the NeHe archives.

This is definitely a "tourist/newbie" trap.

You would better off trowing money out the window

Well for people like me that book sounds a lot more helpful than me trying to look for tutorials on god knows what. I don't know what programming a video game would take (like all the details) so searching through online tutorials wouldn't help me unless I already knew the generic path of making a game.

From what I remember of GameTutorials (back when it was all free), you'd still be searching around in no particular path; you'll learn a lot of techniques for making games, but not the technique of making games. If you're prepared to piece everything together yourself then I have no doubt that it'd be a valuable resource, but from your post it seems that that's precisely what you'd be trying to avoid.

Oh crap...I accidentally reported you Ein :( sorry. I wasn't paying enough attention. It said like "Report being sent." Is there a way to undo that?

I was wondering what an odd report that was.
