Team name:
AVE

Project name:
Turmoil

Brief description:
Turmoil is an MMORPG set in a progressive fantasy world. It allows the player to take control of the political structure and use media, public opinion and power to control civilizations and armies.

Turmoil aims to cater for politics, crafting and combat in a game that brings role-playing back to the MMORPG genre.

Turmoil has been in pre-production (design) for approximately three months, with focus on the role-playing system and campaign setting for about a year.

Target aim:
Retail

Compensation:
75% of turnover will go to team members, with 25% kept for future projects.

Technology:
Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
3D Studio MAX
Reality Engine
Facial Studio
SpeedTree RT
Audacity
Adobe Photoshop

Talent needed:
Web Designer –Must be adept at web interface art. It doesn’t matter if you can only do the artistic side, we have a fairly competent dhtml/PHP/MySQL coder in our midst. It is preferable if you have done websites with fantasy themes before, or websites for game projects.

While we are only actively looking for a website designer at the moment, if you have talent you feel you could contribute, please go ahead an contact us.

Team structure:
Lead Designer: I am a designer who has worked for many projects over a period of time, although none have succeeded, due to lack of development staff. I have strong leadership skills and am passionate about game development, as well as determined to see this project succeed.

Non-organic 3D Modeling: Miles Legget has worked for several projects, including a commercial 3D application interface to allow disabled people to access applications on school computers, he is proficient with 3D Studio MAX in environmental modeling and spends the rest of his time gaming. Miles has been with us since the pre-production phase started.

Music: Mr. Scum is a very talented sound programmer, one of the co-musicians of Scum Sounds, [http://www.scumsounds.com]. He has created lots of great music and is only getting better. We strongly believe that music can make or break a game and we are working very hard on the musical aspects of Turmoil.

As lead designer, I also script in Python and dabble in the 3D arts. I have been playing classical guitar for nearly nine years and have also designed many levels for various games including FarCry, Half-Life (1 and 2), CounterStrike (1.6 and Source) as well as making the Endaar Island Neverwinter Nights mod and Unreal and Morrowind maps.

Website:
I am looking to recruit a webmaster before buying the domain and hosting.

Contacts:
methulah@yahoo.com.au

Additional Info:
We understand that there are many posts on forums for MMORPGs, however, we have assessed the industry and gauged the difficulty of the project and have come to the conclusion that while what we say will be difficult, it is possible.

We are just as annoyed as you by the constant spamming or respectable game development forums by 12 year olds who post something like:

“OMG i wanna maek teh best mmorpg eva!!11 lol!!1 btw, wat iz an c++?”

These are the people who are making it harder for serious game developers to find a team, and are bringing the name of the indie game development scene down.

Turmoil is a serious, yet ambitious project that is backed by the best of technology and talent, a necessity if we are to succeed.

Thanks,
Django Merope-Synge

Is there gonna be a Free demo for this game? If so, be sure to tell me because I would love to test it for you because the game sounds great. What platform will it be for?
