Age Of Darkness: The Fallen Kingdom is a new kind of mmorpg which will implement brand new types of ideas. We are currently looking for scriptors in c++,2d and 3d artists and, Website designers. If you interested please go to our forums at aod.eggloaf.com/forums. The site is poorly done because it was done by me and I'm not that good of a website designer. We'll be putting up developement pictures of the game in a few weeks. Please ask any questions on the forums.

There is a trend of people posting MMORPG requests on this website and no-one really takes them seriously unless they provide information about the type of project.

Saying the it will have "lots of cool ideas that no-one has ever thought of before" isn't really enough. If you want help, try giving lots of info about your project, who you have, whta platform, est release timne, setting, style, 3D, 2D etc.

Sorry to sound harsh, but it IS true.

Thanks.

No it's not harsh I know a lot of people fail at making mmorpgs so a lot o people aren't crazy about them. The game will be a 3d third person mmorpg. It's going to be on the computer and has no estimated release time because that ussually just messes things up. There will be pretty much no deadlines so everything is done good and not rushed. The setting is a medievil world were the king has died so there's war to claim the throne thus the name fallen kingdom. So far we only have me (artist+sounds) and my team co-leader artist+sounds). Players will be able to invent whole new items and materials ingame. They'll be able to construct their own towns using a rts type of tool that the guildmaster of the town will use. The magic system is a brand new idea and a little hard to explain so i'll haev a working model of the system soon but there will be no preset spells. Players will use the magic system to create whole new spells that can do pretty much anything. Players will then macro what they did so it won't be so time consuming the next time. Fighting will be balanced that a higher lvl player will ussually kill a lower lvl player but the lower lvl player could easily kill the higher lvl player if he plays smart. Any other questions anyone has please feel free to ask n I always like helpful criticism :D

Have a read down this: http://www.devmaster...uilding_MMORPGs

I'd perhaps scale the game down a bit, and aim lower. You can always take it further later :)

Well not to sound harsh but i'm not exactly an idiot at game making. I know enough of programming to know basicly what I will try to do and I also know it will take a few years to make the game.

Well, good! But still - it was, ehm, it IS a good advice to read the MMORPG articles here before you start working! Cause building an MMORPG is really really hard and challenging even for the pros!

We now have a few artists but are in desperate need of c++ programmers tht know opengl or networking. You don't need to know either to help but to get a playtest that's what we'll need.

We've finally got under way and have found a programmer. I've decided to use Ogre3d and some parts of different engines and make some parts to create ours. We're planning on having a developer playtest within a month where players will only be able to walk around and chat and then once we can get a server up we'll release it. If anyone would like to take a look at some models they're right here Posted Image

We're still looking for C++ programmers, modellers, 2d artists, website designers, composers, and writers. If you'd like to join just e-mail me at justdan2000@hotmail.com which is also my msn messenger account or im me at justdan41890.

Edit: I've finally gotten the new site template and have started to add some content although it's still not up except for the main page mostly.

Until you experience making a mmorpg for yourself do you then realise what its really like. Theory is easy to understand but making it all work and be good at it as well isnt that easy. Your project might take 2-3 years but whos going to play it?? What makes it any better than every other free or commercial mmorpg?? You need to consider these things, why waste 3 years and tons of cash on something noone will even care about.

I'm not planning on it not costing anything until release when we'll have to buy shareware licences and that will only be a few hundred. It'll also be a learning expierence for everyone on the team. I also know it'll take at least 2-3 years to make and i'll continue to work on it even after the release to make everything up to date and as top of the line as i can. There are many new and different things that will draw people to this game. Players are able to create their own items and materials (not new but i know of only 1 mmorpg where this is implemented) players will also reate their own spells using the magic engine instead of just clicking fireball players will manipulate chaos and order (the 2 forces of magic) to do many different things so it won't be the strongest player that wins it'll be the most creative.
