A new world is shaping itself and new challenges can be sought out in our new Massive Multiuser On-line Game called : The Paradise Project™.
TPP is set in the near future when man sets forth and reaches towards the stars. YOU are one of the colonists, and after a hard journey wrought with surprises, thousands of people like you arrive on a planet that has obvious signs of having been previously settled long ago and that is full of alien lifeforms. What will you do? Will you try to figure out the mystery of the ancient inhabitants, will you explore the wildlife and provide food and resources for the rest of the living community? Perhaps you will prefer the selfish path and establish your own little domain in this pristine uninhabited land? Who's to know since YOU are the only person capable of making that choice. YOU can influence directly where the story goes.

From what I saw on the site, would I be correct in guessing that the game is windows only, yeah?

It will be windows at first since we don't have any Mac or Linux experts on the team yet.
But we will be expanding to other platforms for sure.

Your forum wont let me view them (complains that the thread either does not exist, or that I do not have the privilages to view it).
BTW, I look forward to seeing it - it's so refreshing to see online games progressing :)

Works now, thanks :)
Edit: You have to register to view attachments. They are very nice though :) Are you using the Torque engine? How long has this been in development? How many people? What's different about the experience from what you imagined?

Oh, thanks, I didn't realise that guests had no access to view attachments. I fixed that.
We are using Torque, the game has been in development since 2004 but real development with Torque started in February. We have a team of 22 people working on the project all freelance work.
Thanks for the interest and compliments, it's appreciated. :)

Amazing. If you do not want to share with me, it is no problem, but I'd like to dig further. Of those 22, are they all full time? Are they on-site (and if so, are you renting office space, or do you own office space?). How much are they costing? Did you have to get additional capital, and if so where from? Was it hard to get? How are you managing art & code resources? How 'indie' are you? Do you forsee/condone 'crunch time'? Thanks for answering my questions.
I'm really interested in your project :)

I will answer as best as I can, I will not be able to answer all your questions as I am bound to my own NDA and alote of what we are doing is confidential and not meant for the public yet.
We have 22 freelance people working on the project from all over the country, canada and US. They all work on the project on there spare time. We don't have a "formal" office space, but we do have a HQ location with a corporate legal entity called Sylien Entertainment. As for costs... they are all out of our own pocket. We have no grants, no investors just our will to make a successful product that will change they way people play MMOG games. As for the rest of the answers I would suggest you contact me personally via email and we can discuss some more providing the questions aren't to sensitive :) ian.duchesne@sylien.com
Thanks.

I have been to the site and all, and it looks really awesome. As far as I can understand there is going to be a huge map with lots of terrain where you can do whatever you want? Like, can you build your own house wherever? And what are the classes to choose from? Also, I cant access the site via: www.tpp-online.com
