I am an admin on an MMORPG server, and I am currently seeking to add a few more developers to our staff team. Proficiency in C# is recommended (as thats what the actual server is coded in), or C++ if you're interested in developing a new client.
Pay, if any, would be low, as our server depends on donations to pay the monthly bills. This would be a detail that would need to be discussed later.
My email: mcarper@gmail.com
My AIM: ilookinfected
My website: http://thestepdown.n...dows/index.html (we're waiting for our .com to go through, shouldn't be too long for that).
The game is playable right now, and if you're a fan of the Ultima series or Ultima Online you might find this server enjoyable. This would be a great way for a budding programmer to build experience as well as practice both development and design skills.
Thank you for your time,
Prig
P.S. After browsing through the past threads, it seems that these sort of advertisements are a dime a dozen. I'd like to clarify that the server currently has an average of about 20-30 players on at any given time and rising. This is in no way a project just beginning, we are just updating and adding new features.

A moderate amount of raw coding ability in C#, there are lots of code examples already within the server and lots of programming examples on other websites that I'd be glad to provide to anyone interested in learning exactly how our server works. A C# developer would be helping us with gameplay additions and tweaks.
A C++ developer, however, would require a solid grounding in the language and require a large amount of raw coding ability and would be helping us develop a new client. I'm contemplating either using Neverwinter Nights or the Tribes engine, I'm not really sure. With a tribes engine, we could break off and develop our own title, but as of now we're a nonprofit purely for enjoyment project.
Now, if you're not proficient in C#, but handy with a language like C++, the conversion isn't too rough. One of our developers loves C++, but had no problem making minor adjustments and programming with C#.

So this is a free shard server, and not a complete UO client/server "clone"?
