0 A.D. Screenshots
Posted 21 February 2005 - 09:52 PM
Here's a screenshot of Wildfire Games' freeware historical real-time strategy game, 0 A.D. taken a couple of months ago. It's still early days in development, but I hope this pre-alpha image gives an impression of the direction we're taking.
For more screenshots, please check out http://www.wildfireg...t.php?cat_id=49
As a project, 0 A.D. is not only about creating a great RTS game. It's also about learning what can and can't be done in the world of game development. 0 A.D. is a very unusual project in terms of development process; the team members never meet in person, and all work is done on-line and unpaid.
It is one of our goals to share our development experiences with all those interested, and for this purpose, the team members will regularly write their mind on different aspects of the development. It's your chance to get an impression of what happens behind the scenes.

Seriously, those are no ordinary screenshots, rather screamshots!
You just showed what can be achieved with a good use of 3D and well made textures.
Ohh, I'd love to have the skill your artists have! :)
Would they be willing to write some tut on how to get started creating textures, btw?
Well, anyway, that's a great job already!
Looking forward to it :)
I'll talk of 0 a.d. with some friends. They'll like it I'm sure.
(readin' this? you ought to get out more)
